Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC – Language Groups at The Sensory Play Place

1. Introduction

Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC (“Blue Feather”) values the privacy and safety of children and families participating in our language groups. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate our communication groups safely and effectively, including:

Child’s name, age, and relevant developmental information, relevant communication patterns/information related to group participation

Parent/guardian contact details (phone, email, address).

Emergency contact information.

Medical or allergy information voluntarily provided for safety purposes.

Attendance records.

We do not collect unnecessary personal data.

3. How We Use Information

Information is used to:

Register children for communication groups.

Communicate with parents/guardians about group participation, schedules, updates, and safety matters.

Ensure the health and well‑being of participants.

Improve program quality and parent engagement.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Information may be shared only with:

Staff and facilitators directly involved in the program.

The Sensory Play Place staff, if needed for safety or facility coordination.

Emergency responders, if required.

Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may use or disclose identifiable health information about you for other reasons, even without your consent. Subject to certain requirements, Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  is permitted to give out health information without your permission for the following purposes:

  • Required by Law: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may be required by law to report gunshot wounds, suspected abuse or neglect, or similar injuries and events.

  • Research: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may use or disclose information for approved medical research.

  • Public Health Activities: As required by law, Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may disclose vital statistics, diseases, information related to recalls of dangerous products, and similar information to public health authorities.

  • Health Oversight: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may be required to disclose information to assist in investigations and audits, eligibility for government programs, and similar activities. 

  • Judicial and Administrative Proceedings: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may disclose information in response to an appropriate subpoena or court order.

  • Law enforcement Purposes: Subject to certain restrictions, Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC may disclose information required by law enforcement officials.

  • Deaths: We may report information regarding deaths to coroners, medical examiners, funeral and organ donation agencies.

  • Serious Threat to Health or Safety: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may use and disclose information when necessary to prevent a serious threat to your health and safety or the health and safety of the public or another person.

  • Military and Special Government Functions: If you are a member of the armed forces, Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may release information as required by military command authorities. Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may also disclose information to correctional institutions or for national security purposes.

  • Workers’ Compensation: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may release information about you for workers’ compensation or similar programs providing benefits for work-related injuries or illness. In any other situation, we will ask you for your written authorization before using or disclosing any identifiable health information about you. If you choose to sign an authorization to disclose information, you can later revoke that authorization to stop any future uses and disclosures.

  • Treatment Alternatives: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may use and disclose medical information to tell you about or recommend possible treatment options or alternatives that may be of interest to you.

  • Health-Related Benefits and Services: Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC  may use and disclose medical information to tell you about health-related benefits or services that may be of interest to you.

5. Data Protection

Records are stored securely and accessible only to authorized staff.

We take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

6. Parent/Guardian Rights

Parents/guardians have the right to:

Review the information we hold about their child.

Request corrections to inaccurate information.

Withdraw consent for non‑essential data collection.

7. Photography and Media

Blue Feather Communication Collaborative, LLC and its staff do not take photos during active communication group sessions and will not post photos of group participants at any time. 

As the communication group is hosted at The Sensory Play Place, please refer to the specific Play Place waiver regarding photography/media policy during open play at the Play Place for specific information outside of the communication group session time. 

8. Retention of Information

We retain records only as long as necessary to fulfill program requirements or comply with U.S. law.

9. Updates to Policy

Blue Feather may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Parents/guardians will be notified of significant changes.
